The Territory
A Domain Rooted in the Pays Nantais
Domaine Luneau-Papin draws its identity from a deep territorial anchor: the Pays Nantais in Loire-Atlantique. This unique landscape, shaped by oceanic influences, the proximity of the Loire river, and a mosaic of diverse geological soils, is the historical cradle of the Muscadet Sevre et Maine appellation.
Among our flagship cuvées, the domain highlights the Muscadet Sevre et Maine Goulaine, an elegant expression of finesse and minerality. We also perpetuate tradition by cultivating Folle Blanche wine, the historical grape of the Gros Plant du Pays Nantais, another strong signature of this vineyard. This loyalty to the land is expressed through an artisanal approach, respecting the earth and natural rhythms, which guides our organic & biodynamic wine farming for a living and sustainable vineyard.
The Richness of Muscadet Terroirs
Our wines are faithful expressions of the domain’s multiple terroirs, spanning soils of granite, schist, gneiss, micaschist, peridotite-serpentinite, and quartz. Each cuvée tells the story of a specific soil, climate, and vintage.
This exceptional geological diversity offers a wide range of expressions for our Muscadet wines: tension, depth, salinity, and aromatic finesse. This is where our work as Muscadet winemakers takes its full meaning—accompanying the uniqueness of each site to let it speak in the glass.
Identity Grapes of the Loire Valley
Melon de Bourgogne wine (also known as Melon B) is the emblematic grape of our Nantes vineyards, particularly for the Muscadet AOP. Folle Blanche, on the other hand, gives birth to the Gros Plant du Pays Nantais.
These two white grape varieties thrive in our biodynamic vineyard, producing dry Loire white wines that are precise, vibrant, and digestible—true ambassadors of their origin: Pays Nantais, Loire-Atlantique, and the Pays de la Loire region.
A Vineyard Open to the World
Faithful to our spirit of openness, we initiated a project of tourism houses in Clisson. These guesthouses in the heart of the Muscadet vineyard offer an alternative way to share our passion, providing an immersion into our ecosystem and our vision of life.
This hospitality project reflects our desire to embody, beyond the vines, another way of being winemakers: listening, welcoming, and committed to transmission and local ties. Our holiday rentals near Nantes France and Airbnb Clisson France style accommodations invite you to experience the vineyard firsthand.
